A free community event, “Co-Creating the Future of Our City: Finding Common Ground on Environment and Sustainable Business,” is planned for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Impact Hub, 1117 State St., Santa Barbara.
IHub officials are inviting community members to gather and pinpoint local issues and solutions as part of a nationwide week of local impact meetings. Participants are asked to come prepared to brainstorm and discuss after a “fishbowl-style” discussion featuring South Coast-based business owners and IHub members, including:
- Rodney Loehr, co-founder of Aquaviable will discuss increasing water health and independence in an era of global water supply challenges; his company makes an appliance that makes distilled water literally out of thin air;
- Norah Eddy of Salty Girl Seafood will talk about setting a new bar for responsible, transparent sourcing in fisheries;
- Rita Tate of Flame Design will speak on creating sustainable solutions to wastefulness in the design business.
