UCSB’s Latino Business Association, a student-run nonprofit organization, has held the conference for professionals and students for the past decade as a means of constructing a bridge between its members and corporate America.
Representatives from several local companies are invited to recruit and to lead self-improvement workshops for the benefit of members of the Latino Business Association, or LBA.
“Our workshops aim to teach members the intangible qualities that define a leader, helping members on themes such as negotiation, leadership, public speaking, finances and networking,” said Lydia Gil, LBA social director.
This year, workshops for students will be hosted by Northwestern and Wells Fargo. About 50 people are expected.
